Zhou Junwen, mayor and deputy Party secretary of Xiangxiang, Central China’s Hunan province, inspected Yanjing Beer (Xiangtan) Company, China's third-largest beer brewer on March 7, to explore problems restricting the company’s development.

Since settling in Xiangxiang in 1999, Yanjing Group has made large contributions to the development of local businesses. It has paid a total tax for about 370 million yuan ($53.51 million) till 2016, with 15.31 million yuan in 2015 and 15.14 million yuan in 2016.

However, the company has encountered some difficulties in its current economic development.
At the meeting, company principal reported the development situation and problems. Then officials from local government departments, including financial, technology, environment protection, water conservancy and public security issued opinions and proposals on the problems.

After hearing detailed analysis and proposals for the current company situation from related departments, Zhou advised that the company should set clear development goals, focusing on branding, and new products R&D. Relevant government departments should provide more assistance to speed the company’s development.

Additionally, departments should protect the company’s development environment through rectifying the local beer market. Zhou also assigned relevant departments to draw up preferential tax policies and surrounding environment regulations.

Zhou Shangling, Xiangxiang’s executive vice mayor attended the inspection.
