Photography exhibition showcases intangible cultural heritages in Xiangxiang

A photography exhibition showcasing abundant Xiangxiang’s intangible cultural heritages was held at Jiahengmao shopping center on June 16.

The event was devoted to exposing local culture to visitors across China, as well as encouraging public participation in cultural heritage protection.

The exhibition will last for three months and showcase photographs of 23 heritages, such as Jinshi Shiba drums, Huopei fish, and Xiangxiang roasted cakes.

Xiangxiang has made great achievements in preserving its intangible cultural heritages in recent years. The municipal government issued the First List of Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection of Xiangxiang, which has 11 categories with 38 items, including a Hunan provincial intangible cultural heritage and six Xiangtan municipal cultural ones.
