A signing ceremony for a project to recycle waste mineral oil was held in Xiangtan, Hunan province on Dec 16.

Three parties, the Xiangxiang municipal government, China New Era Group Corp, and Dingsheng Petrochemical Co, signed the agreement.

The project, with expected investment of 560 million yuan ($81.42 million), will settle down in Xiangxiang, a county-level city of Xiangtan. It will adopt cutting-edge technologies to annually convert over 95 percent of 100,000-tons of waste mineral oil into petroleum products, with the aim of reducing the consumption and emission of waste mineral oil, increasing petroleum resource supply, and bringing sound economic, social and environmental benefits.
