Xiangxiang to welcome a biomass power plant
Xiangxiang signed with the Hunan Power Design Institute of China Energy Engineering Group Co Ltd to build a biomass power plant in Xiangxiang, Hunan province on July 5.
With a planned area of 150 mu (about 10 hectares) and an investment of 310 million yuan ($45.35 million), the project will build a 30 MW biomass power plant. It will annually use 250,000 tons of shrubs, stalks of crops and forest debris such as logging residue as fuel, and is expected to produce about 180 million kilowatt-hour. The biomass power plant, using biomass resources, will improve the environment, promote local employment and increase farmers’ incomes.
The two sides promised to strengthen communication and cooperation with each other. Representative of Xiangxiang vowed that the city will try its best to support the project.
